Air cooled condensing units are manufactured in 53 different models and cover a wide capacity range. These units are complete with semi-hermetic compressors with displacement from 4.74 m3/h up to 150.86 m3/h and electric motor with nominal power from 0.37 kW up to 22 kW. They are suitable to operate with evaporating temperatures between 12.5°C and -45°C.

Standard equipment

Condensing units are essentially composed of semi-hermetic compressor, air cooled condenser, fan motors, liquid receiver with safety valve, oil charge, service valves, base frame and, where foreseen, vibration absorber installed in discharge line.

Accessories

They can be supplied with oil crankcase heater, oil separator on discharge line, liquid separator on suction line, high and low pressure switch, high and low pressure gauges, liquid injection device systems and, where foreseen, electronic or electromechanical oil pressure switch, capacity control device, unloaded start device.

Compressors

Compressors are of semi-hermetic type and are cooled by suction refrigerant. They are complete with valves, pressure connections, oil sight glass, suction filter, oil charge, rubber vibration absorbers.

Electric motors

Compressors fitting SA condensing units are provided with three-phase standard electric motor. Page 9 "Electric data" features the electric characteristics and performances of the whole range of available motors. All models are also available with 50 Hz electric motor. Refrigerating capacities

Performances of FRASCOLD air cooled condensing unit are calculated at the operative conditions quoted on page 7 "Refrigerating capacity". FRASCOLD electronic catalogue is available it features all the data introduced in this catalogue and allows to select the correct product according to the specific operating conditions.

Electronic protection devices

For three-phase compressors, protection is performed by means a series of PTC thermistors placed into the stator winding of the electric motor and plugged to an electronic control module (KRIWAN INT69 for A, B, D, F, Q and S compressors and model KRIWAN INT 69 TM for V and Z compressors). V and Z series compressors are supplied with discharge gas high temperature protection composed of a PTC thermistor sensor installed on compressor discharge and plugged to the electronic control module. For S series compressors, PTC thermistor sensor is supplied on request.

 
Air cooled condensers

High efficiency design with generous dimensions, they are made with aluminum fins and special copper tube to increase heat exchange surface area. They are complete with a steel structure and with convoyers. Fan motor arrangement grants a full use of the fin pack.

Fan motors

High quality type, with external rotor and directly inserted fan, they ensure high air flow, low electrical absorbtion, very low noise level and no vibrations Fan motor blades are of suction type. Motors with fan diameter 300 mm, 350 mm and 400 mm are supplied, as standard, 220-240V single phase, with built-in electro-thermal protection. Fan with three phase electric motor are supplied on request. Motors with fan diameter 450 mm and 500 mm are supplied as standard 230-400V three phases with electro-thermal protection. All fan motor models can be supplied in class F insulation.

Lubrication

As for A, B, D, F, Q and S series, it is carried out by centrifuge. For V and Z series lubrication is carried out by means a high pressure oil pump. The oil pump lubricated compressors are complete with oil filter; oil pressure measurement connections and universal bracket for oil pressure switch mounting.

Liquid receivers

Liquid receivers are of vertical type, complete with liquid valve and safety valve.
